Eastmont
I was lucky enough to be invited to the National Night Out at St. Benedict’s Church recently, and the love, community, and passion were overwhelming. St. Benedict’s Church has, for more than 75 years, been at the heart of Oakland’s Eastmont neighborhood. The Eastmont neighborhood grew up in the 1920s around the newly built Chevrolet assembly plant. After the plant closed in 1963, the Eastmont Mall was built on the grounds. The mall, now called Eastmont Town Center, is now home to, among other things, an Oakland Police Department substation, Alameda Health System’s Eastmont Wellness health clinic, and the Social Security office.

#PrayingforOakland
We heart Oakland.
Last Saturday, 5-yr-old Grace (with her parents) picked up all of the garbage on our street.
We need more love in the world.
Hate should never take over the world.
Let us love, love, love and stand in unity.
It doesn’t matter about race, gender, religion.

Embrace the Diversity!!!
I grew up out of country and traveled the world over to come back stateside to choose OAKLAND as home!
The Richness that is Oakland lies in its cultural diversity!
