Marika (along with her infectious smile) is a regular out at Lake Merritt on the weekends…walking the slack line, juggling, or simply creating an inviting community space. During the week she is helping to make the future better for all of us through her curriculum development work. And every day she brings her unique insight and perspective to the world around her.
Lake Merritt is a place where being mixed race is its own culture, something we talk about and something that’s beautiful. It’s a place I feel comfortable in my own skin.
