Maxwell Park

There is much that I love about The Oakland Neighborhood Project. Everything really, but nothing quite as much as the opportunity to spend some time with an entire neighborhood. For this shoot, I spent a morning with a group of residents on Normandie Ave. in Oakland’s Maxwell Park neighborhood. There is something powerful and compelling about a neighborhood coming together for something as simple of creating signs for photos. The most compelling part was the kids. They kept making sign after sign to show how much they love Oakland. That’s something.
