Dimond
Stan Dodson has a lot of passions. Chief among them are Oakland, Oakland’s parks and trails, and sharing his love of hiking. And he’s the kind of person who puts that passion to work. A longtime resident of Oakland, Stan works as the manager of La Farine Bakery in the Dimond neighborhood, and has spent years as a volunteer maintaining and promoting Oakland’s trail system that connects Dimond Park to the Bay Area Ridge Trail. His community involvement has included serving on boards for both the Dimond Improvement Association and the Friends of Joaquin Miller Park. Recently he took his passion even further and assembled a team of talented, local film makers to produce a documentary about our city’s trail system. He has enlisted the aid of trail users, local businesses, historians, creek restoration experts and park volunteers. The documentary, Trailhead: Dimond Park and the Nature Beyond, will be completed soon. Visit Stan’s site for more information and to see what you can do to get involved.
