Trestle Glen
A house they built themselves, a tree swing in the front garden, cello lessons, pink and green signs, lots of love for one another and Oakland, and one of the warmest and most welcoming families I’ve met so far. You won’t find more committed Oaklanders than John, Kira & Lara.
I love Oakland and my Trestle Glen neighborhood…it’s where I bought and built my first home. It is where I became and wife and a mom. I love this residential neighborhood in the middle of a city, where I can walk and bike to world class theater, music, art, restaurants and cafes. I love the beautiful old homes and gorgeous views here, and that my daughter can play outside with her friends unsupervised. I love the artists, intellects, activists, outdoorsmen and color amid which I live. I love the many cultures and backgrounds to which my daughter is exposed daily.
I love Oakland…because I feel free and I can run around outside with my friends without a parent watching us. I like to learn about people from different cultures like my friend Danae, who is Greek. I also feel that Oakland is a great place to live and grow up in. I love my school and y teachers for many reasons but the main reason is because they are nice.
I love Oakland!
It is amazing.
In Oakland we know and love our neighbors
